Bitcoin Price Forecast: Will ETF Demand Propel BTC Back Above $87K?

Bitcoin is currently trading at approximately $83,150, marking a retreat from its recent high above $87,000. This latest pullback has raised questions about the coin’s ability to maintain the upward momentum established since August.

Despite this minor setback, Bitcoin’s price remains significantly higher than its August low of around $63,000. Notably, last week saw U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs draw in about $2.39 billion, marking the strongest weekly inflow of 2026. This influx reflects burgeoning institutional interest, which has the potential to bolster Bitcoin’s price in the coming days.

As Bitcoin tested critical support levels between $82,000 and $83,000, traders are keenly observing whether it can hold above this rising trend line. A drop below this threshold could open the door to a decline toward the $75,000 to $77,000 range, with additional support found near $65,000 to $67,000.

On the flip side, bulls are eyeing a reclaim of the $85,000 mark, which, if successful, could set the stage for a test of resistance levels around $94,000 to $97,000. Current momentum indicators, such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 59.54, suggest that while momentum has cooled, it remains positive.

Market analysts have weighed in on Bitcoin’s recent performance. Benjamin Cowen noted that Bitcoin’s ability to close above the May high is a positive sign for bulls, although he cautioned that the rally has been more subdued compared to previous cycles. Factors such as seasonality and rising Treasury yields may be dampening the pace of growth.

Trading activity last Friday alone showcased a substantial $134.5 million inflow into Bitcoin ETFs, extending a streak of positive inflows over the past week. BlackRock’s IBIT led these inflows with $97 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC contributed around $49 million. This surge in ETF interest has pushed 2026 ETF flows back into positive territory after a period of net outflows earlier in the year.

Despite the robust demand, Bitcoin’s price has not aligned with the inflow trajectory, indicating that new buyers are entering the market while existing holders capitalize on selling opportunities in the $84,000 to $87,000 range.

As the market grapples with the implications of rising U.S. Treasury yields, which have recently hit their highest levels since 2007, traders remain cautious yet optimistic. Bitcoin’s current positioning above its daily trend support suggests that bulls need to reclaim critical resistance levels to reignite the upward trend.

In conclusion, the question remains: Can the remarkable demand from Bitcoin ETFs sustain the momentum needed to propel BTC back above the $87,000 mark? Only time will tell, but the current market dynamics certainly hint at a potential resurgence.
