Cardano (ADA) is currently trading at approximately $0.208, reflecting a decline of about 1.4% as it breaks below a rising channel that has guided its recovery since June. The recent price action has raised concerns among traders and investors about the potential for further losses.
ADA began the day around $0.2106 and briefly peaked at $0.2122 before falling to about $0.2062, where it managed a slight recovery. Analyst Ali Charts noted that this movement signifies a confirmed breakdown from the channel, which has served as a critical support level since late June, when ADA was at a low of $0.138 and reached a high of $0.282.
According to Ali Charts, the bearish sentiment persists, with $0.220 now acting as resistance. Should this level hold, he anticipates a potential decline of approximately 20% down to $0.166, raising alarms for ADA holders.
ADA Chart Analysis
The recent break below the channel’s lower boundary marks a significant shift in ADA’s price dynamics. This trendline had previously provided support throughout its recovery from June to October. The previous support zone around $0.215-$0.22 is now likely to act as a formidable resistance level.
At present, the momentum appears to favor sellers, as indicated by the daily RSI at 36.53—hovering near oversold territory but still above 30. Additionally, the MACD line sits at -0.0068, below its signal line at -0.0035. Traders are now eyeing $0.20 as a critical support level, with lower thresholds set at $0.18 and $0.16. A reclaim of $0.22 would signify the first step towards reversing the recent breakdown.
On-Chain and Market Data
On-chain metrics for Cardano present a mixed picture. The DeFi Total Value Locked (TVL) stands at approximately $59.7 million, with stablecoins on the network totaling around $69 million. Over the last 24 hours, Cardano recorded about 14,360 active addresses and 29,001 transactions, while decentralized exchanges processed only about $1.05 million.
Weekly DEX volume has fallen by roughly 28.6%, now at $6.76 million, and stablecoin supply has decreased by about 1.7% over the week. However, large-wallet activity has surged, with transactions exceeding $1 million rising from 24 to 51, although it remains unclear whether this trend indicates buying or selling pressure from whales.
In terms of institutional interest, Cardano is still awaiting a standalone U.S. spot ETF. Grayscale’s withdrawal of its Cardano ETF registration in August left the door open for future developments, as the filing had not yet become effective.
On the international front, the 21Shares Cardano ETP (AADA) experienced estimated net outflows of approximately $181,450 over the past week, despite a slightly positive 30-day flow of about $33,740.
Development efforts continue to gain momentum, with the recent merging of Praos2 into the main development branch. Focus remains on enhancing the network’s capabilities, with upcoming features expected in Node 11.2, which will incorporate Dijkstra hard-fork elements without Leios, followed by a later release combining both technologies.
With ADA currently trading near $0.208, just above the critical $0.20 support level, traders and investors alike are left to ponder whether the bulls can defend this vital threshold in the face of mounting bearish pressure.
